Bible word study lesson

Pray without ceasing does not mean pray all day

The conversation you never leave · 15:28 · 2026-09-04 · King James Version

"Pray without ceasing" read as an instruction never to stop produces guilt in everybody and compliance in nobody. Strong's carries a qualifier almost nobody quotes: without omission, on an appropriate occasion. The command is against lapsing, not against pausing — which turns an impossible appointment into a practice: an anchor you keep, a thread through the day, and something to do when nothing comes back.
