The miracles of Jesus
The Gospels record about 35 specific miracles of Jesus, from turning water into wine at Cana (John 2:1-11) to the great catch of fishes after his resurrection (John 21:1-11). They include healings, casting out devils, raising the dead, and miracles over nature such as calming the storm and feeding the five thousand, the only miracle in all four Gospels.
The list below follows the rough order of events in the Gospels. Scholars arrange the timeline in slightly different ways, so treat the order as a guide. For miracles told in more than one Gospel, the first reference is linked and the parallel accounts are listed in the note.
The Gospels also say that Jesus healed many more people than are named, and John ends his book by saying "many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book."

Kinds of miracles
Healings make up most of the list: lepers, the blind, the lame, a withered hand, fever, an issue of blood and more. Jesus also cast out devils, raised three people from the dead (the widow's son at Nain, Jairus' daughter and Lazarus), and did miracles over nature, such as calming the storm, walking on the water and multiplying loaves and fishes.
Why John calls them signs
John tells only a few miracles and explains his reason: "these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name" (John 20:31).
Counting the miracles
Counts vary from list to list. Some events can be counted as one or two (the blind men at Jericho, the two feedings, the men among the tombs), and some lists add the transfiguration or the resurrection. Readers also differ on whether a few similar accounts in different Gospels describe the same event.
