Bible verses about healing

The Bible's best-known healing verses include Exodus 15:26, where God says "I am the LORD that healeth thee," Jeremiah 17:14, "Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed," and James 5:14-16 on praying for the sick. Psalm 147:3 adds that God "healeth the broken in heart."

Healing runs from the first books of the Bible to the last. God names himself as the one who heals, the Gospels show Jesus healing the sick wherever he went, and the letters tell the church to pray for those who are ill.

The verses below are grouped by theme and printed in the King James Version. Some speak of bodily sickness, some of a wounded heart, and some of the deeper healing of sin. The note under each verse says what it adds.
