Adam and Eve
The First Choice and the Garden the World Lost

Adam and Eve
The first man, the first choice, and the garden the world lost.
God forms man of the dust of the ground, breathes into him the breath of life, and places him in a garden eastward in Eden to dress it and to keep it. Adam names every living creature, but among them no help meet is found for him, so God makes woman from his rib -- bone of his bones, flesh of his flesh -- and the two become one. Only one tree in all the garden is forbidden: the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
But the serpent, more subtil than any beast of the field, whispers to the woman that they shall not surely die, and she takes of the fruit and gives to her husband. Their eyes are opened, and when the LORD walks in the garden in the cool of the day, they hide themselves. The blame passes from man to woman to serpent, the ground is cursed, and dust to dust becomes the sentence of man. Driven from Eden, they leave behind a flaming sword guarding the way to the tree of life.
And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
