Bible verses for graduation

The most popular graduation verses are Jeremiah 29:11, Proverbs 3:5-6 ("Trust in the LORD with all thine heart"), Joshua 1:9 ("Be strong and of a good courage"), and Philippians 4:13. For a speech or a charge to graduates, Micah 6:8 and Matthew 5:16 are favorites.

Graduation is about what comes next, and much of the Bible's wisdom writing was addressed to young people at the same point: Proverbs speaks to a son learning how to live, Paul writes to the young Timothy, and Ecclesiastes ends with advice to remember thy Creator in the days of thy youth.

The verses below are grouped by how people use them: short verses for a card, guidance for decisions ahead, wisdom and learning, and verses for a commencement speech or a charge to graduates. Every verse is the King James Version text.
