Thanksgiving Bible verses

The best-known Thanksgiving verses are Psalm 100:4 ("Enter into his gates with thanksgiving"), Psalm 107:1 ("O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good"), and 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ("In every thing give thanks"). For a blessing at the meal, many families read Deuteronomy 8:10 or Psalm 145:15-16.

Thanksgiving Day is not in the Bible, but giving thanks is everywhere in it. Israel kept harvest feasts, the Psalms call people to give thanks again and again, and the New Testament asks believers to give thanks in every thing.

The verses below are grouped by how people use them in November: psalms of thanks to read aloud, verses for the table and the harvest, verses for hard years, and short lines for a card. Every verse is the King James Version text.
