Bible verses for Father's Day
Popular Father's Day verses are Proverbs 20:7 ("The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him"), Psalm 103:13 ("Like as a father pitieth his children"), Proverbs 17:6, and Joshua 24:15 ("as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD").
Father's Day is not in the Bible, but fathers are everywhere in it: Abraham walking up the mountain with Isaac, David weeping for Absalom, Joseph quietly obeying the angel, and the father in Jesus' parable who ran to meet his son. And the name Jesus taught his disciples to call God in the Lord's Prayer is Father.
The verses below are grouped by how people use them: short lines for a card, honouring your father, wisdom for fathers, fathers of the Bible, and verses about God as Father for anyone who finds the day hard. Every verse is the King James Version text.
