Bible verses for encouragement
Some of the most encouraging verses in the Bible are Joshua 1:9, "Be strong and of a good courage," Isaiah 41:10, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee," and Isaiah 40:31, which promises that those who wait on the LORD "shall renew their strength." 1 Thessalonians 5:11 tells believers to "comfort yourselves together, and edify one another."
The Bible is honest about discouragement. Psalm 42 asks "Why art thou cast down, O my soul?" and Paul admits to being troubled on every side. Alongside that honesty come promises: God is present, he gives strength to the weary, and he is still at work.
These KJV verses are grouped for the moments people usually look for them: when you feel alone, when you are worn out, when you wonder if anything good will come of it, and when you want to encourage someone else.
