Bible verses about strength
Key Bible verses about strength include Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me," Isaiah 40:31, "they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength," and Nehemiah 8:10, "the joy of the LORD is your strength." In 2 Corinthians 12:9 the Lord tells Paul, "my strength is made perfect in weakness."
When the Bible talks about strength, it rarely means a person's own toughness. Again and again the writers say their strength is the LORD himself, and Paul goes as far as saying "when I am weak, then am I strong."
The KJV verses below are grouped by theme: God as the source of strength, strength for the tired and weak, strength through Christ and the Spirit, and the many commands to be strong and of good courage.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
